Estonian maestro Paavo Järvi, named 2015 Gramophone Artist of the Year, returns as guest conductor for this panoramic program. Opening with a meditation on the Shroud of Turin by fellow Estonian Arvo Pärt, Järvi and the Festival Orchestra invite peerless Swedish clarinetist Martin Fröst to join in Mozart’s ravishing Clarinet Concerto. The evening culminates in the expansive vistas of Beethoven’s Fourth Symphony.

“Highly charged music making.” New York Times on Paavo Järvi
“Fröst exhibited a virtuosity and a musicianship unsurpassed by any clarinetist—perhaps any instrumentalist—in my memory.” New York Times
