—New York Times on Fischer’s Don Giovanni
In 2011, conductor Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra electrified Mostly Mozart audiences with their extraordinary Don Giovanni. This summer, they return to the Rose Theater with an absorbing, witty performance of Mozart’s comic opera The Marriage of Figaro. The orchestra performs on the stage itself while Mr. Fischer leads this lively opera.
This performance is approximately three hours and 30 minutes, with intermission.
Performance begins promptly at its scheduled time. There is no late seating.
Pre-performance discussion on Thursday, August 15 with Iván Fischer and Jane Moss at 6:00 in the Irene Diamond Education Center. Admission to the pre-performance discussion is extremely limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Arriving early does not guarantee admittance.
