Mostly Mozart’s pioneering artists-in-residence return to create the enigmatic atmosphere of George Benjamin’s chamber opera Into the Little Hill. With Benjamin at the podium, ICE delves into some of the composer-in-residence’s influences, along with Pierre-Laurent Aimard, who joins the group for Ligeti’s riotous Piano Concerto. ICE dedicates its Little Night Music performance to the vividly imagined work of Benjamin’s student Dai Fujikura.
